HHAMILTON - Randy Rae Johnson, 63, of Hamilton Montana, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at his home. Randy was born to Roy Sr. and Estella (Dickinson) Johnson on March 1, 1958, in Middletown, New York. He grew up in Bloomingburg, NY and moved to Malone in his teenage years where he graduated high school at Franklin Academy. After graduation, Randy enlisted and served in the US Army as a Ranger.  Over the years, he lived in many places including NY, WA, VT, and MT where he lived out his dream of being in his glory of mountains, rivers and streams that offered all that he enjoyed. Randy had many interests and talents including any kind of fishing, hunting, blacksmithing, gold panning, and most importantly music. Whether Randy was playing, listening, attending concerts or festivals, there was always music. Spending time with his friends and family was always important to him.  Randy leaves behind his daughter, Roxanne Johnson; her fiancé, Mark DeVoid; and grandchildren, Aspen, Hunter, Brayten and Easten, of Lowell VT; his beloved fiancé, Heather Lesky; their puppy, Hondo; and cat, Henry, of Hamilton, MT; her mother, Sandy Morris; her children, Te’von Anderson, Neessa Anderson, and Yanavah, who was considered a grandchild to Randy, of Salem, OR. He also leaves behind his siblings; Richard and his wife, Helen (Howell) Johnson of Wurtsboro, NY; Elaine (Johnson) Foster of Hyde Park, VT; Linda (Johnson) and her husband, Barry Yarwood, of Cuddebackville, NY; Patricia (Mann-Johnson) and her husband, Charles Tryon, of Latham, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Randy was predeceased by his father, Roy Sr.; mother, Estella; brothers, Roy Johnson Jr., Ronald Johnson; brother-in-law, Clarke Foster; Heather’s father, Tom Morris; and his beloved dog and best friend, Clyde. A Military Honors Ceremony will be held at Hamilton Riverview Cemetery 99 Westbridge Rd, Hamilton, MT on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 3:00 pm and a Celebration of life to follow at the Rainbow Bar 113 N. 2nd Street, Hamilton, MT. An additional celebration of life will be held at a later date in Vermont/New York. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warriors Project.
