Richard L. Brown

November 21, 1937 — April 13, 2014

Richard L. Brown, 76 of Hamilton, passed away on Palm Sunday, 13 April 2014 after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Richard was born on 21 November 1937 in Culver City, CA. He graduated from Van Nuys High School. Shortly afterwards he joined the Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, he met the love of his life, Sachi, and they were married in 1962. Richard was a Vietnam War veteran and retired from the Air Force in 1977 as a Master Sergeant. They then moved to Muldrow OK, where he owned his own business as an over the road truck driver. He drove for North American, Schneider, Land Star/Ranger and worked a brief time in Yellowstone National Park. In 1986, Richard and Sachi discovered God's country (the Bitterroot Valley) and moved to Hamilton MT. Richard and Sachi both loved Montana and enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking the many trails in the Bitterroot together.
Richard and Sachi were married just shy of 50 years and Sachi preceded him in death; Richard is survived by his three sons, Chuck and his wife, Serena of Orville CA, Jim and his wife, Lisa of Van Buren AR, and Gil and his wife, Cathy of Tahlequah OK. He has five grandchildren Zack, Justin, Kyle, Janae, Jackson and one great grandchild.
The family would like to thank the Marcus Daly Hospice staff for their kind care giving, the pastor and congregation of the Nazarene Church of Victor for their support and Barbara and Dan for almost 30 years of Bitterroot Valley friendship with Richard and Sachi.
