Richard "Dick" Riggs

HAMILTON " Richard W. Riggs, 80, of Hamilton passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. He was born July 2, 1929 in Anderson, IN the son of Frank L. and Pauline Riggs.

Dick grew up in Indiana and Texas and served his country in the US Air Force shortly after high school. He participated for almost a year in the Berlin Air Lift. One of Dick's favorite past times was riding broncs in the rodeo. He later became a Transportation and Logistics Engineer for the Dept. of Defense, retiring in 1985.

Dick married Diane Kable in 1978. After a short vacation in Hamilton, Dick and Diane decided Hamilton was the place they would spend the rest of their lives, moving here in 1995. Diane preceded him in death in 1998.

Dick is survived by 5 children, Teri Brusca, Mike Riggs, Randy Riggs, Susan Jacobson and Brian Jacobson; and 9 grandchildren, Micah, Shauna, Matt, Seth, Nikki, Lindsey, Rachel, Charlie and Jakey.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Dick's name to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation.
