Richard Lee Sain

Richard Lee Sain, 79, of Conner Montana passed away on June 13th, 2023, peacefully surrounded by family. He was born to parents Robert “Lefty” Sain and Patricia Sain on August 8, 1943 in Blythe California.

Richard moved from California to the Bitterroot Valley in 1976 with his family embracing the Montana life of owning land, animals and building a home on the East Fork. He held assorted carpentry jobs and worked for many years at Stoltz Conner Lumber.

He is survived by sons Richard and Matt Sain, Albert and Vince Zepeda and daughter Elaina Kellar, all who reside in the Bitterroot Valley. Richard also is lovingly survived by a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Anyone who knew Richard would say he was a hardworking, honest, family-loving man that always had your back. He loved football in his youth and more so when he watched his sons and nephews play. He greatly enjoyed horseback riding and playing with his family in the mountains and streams. Jazz and Blues were always being played and if he got the chance to dance—watch out—he’d have you dancing too.

Memorial Service is June 30th at 2:00 pm at Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton Montana.
