Richard William Waliser, known by all as Charlie, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Charlie was born February 24, 1963 in Hamilton MT, to Nick and Clara Waliser. He graduated from Corvallis High School in 1981. After graduation, Charlie moved to Whitehall to help manage a grocery store. He later moved to Utah and continued to work in the retail grocery business until he moved back to the Bitterroot Valley in 1987.
In October 1989, Charlie met Jenny Laing, and they were married December 25, 1990. Although they were divorced ten years later, they remained very close until the time of Charlie's death.
Charlie loved to work and was happiest when he was working. He was a master Drywaller and formed his own company, JC Drywall, in 1991. Charlie had many friends and was loved by all. He was incredibly generous and helped anyone who needed it. He will be sorely missed and well-remembered by countless friends and by his entire family.
Charlie really loved his pets, especially his dogs. He also truly enjoyed the horseback trips he took with his brother Leroy and sister-in-law Linda.
Charlie is survived by his sister Elaine (Richard and son John) of Newman Lake Washington, Irene (Butch and son Bradley) of Lewistown MT, Leroy (Linda) of Stevensville MT, Emil (Pat) of Zap ND, Jenny Laing of Hamilton MT, and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
Charlie was preceded in death by his brother Michael in 1978, his father Nick in 1997, and his mother Clara in April 2010.
A private family service and urn placement will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice in Charlie's name.
