Obituary

LOLO – Rick “Jug” Apperson, 67, of Lolo passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the University of Utah Medical Center due to complications from a heart transplant. He was born September 29, 1958 in Enumclaw, WA the son of James and Luella Marketa (Derry) Apperson.

After high school Jug, attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID earning his degree in diesel mechanics. He was the owner of Valley Gear in Corvallis for over 20 years. Jug was also an avid model train enthusiast.

Jug was preceded in death by his parents and Elmer Carlson. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Keith Sisson of Lolo; his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Amber Apperson of Stevensville; his brother, Gene Apperson of Boise, ID; his sister, Candi Fitch of Boise, ID; his sister, Jamie Baier of Helena; and 5 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 4:00 pm at the Daly-Leach Chapel with a reception following at the Bitterroot River Inn. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
