HAMILTON - Risa Susan Louise Atwood Stevens, 67, of Hamilton passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 9, 2012 at her home from a Parkinson's related illness. She was born July 9, 1945 in Ladysmith, WI the daughter of Manuel and Lillian Atwood.
Risa graduated from Victor High School in 1967 where she was the homecoming queen her senior year. Risa worked and eventually owned and operated the A and W Root Beer Drive-in from 1956 until 1977, where she was everybody's favorite carhop as a teen. She also worked at Trapper Creek Job Corps from 1980 - 1986, Travel Creations from 1987 -1989, Smith Janitorial Services from 1994 - 1999 and for Pizza Hut from 2000 - 2006. Risa married Terry Stevens on January 11, 2004.
She was a member of the First Christian Church (DOC) where she served as a Deacon, Elder and sang in the choir. She enjoyed cooking, cards, puzzles, fishing, traveling, movies and especially supporting her family.
Risa was preceded in death by parents and her infant son, Rex. She is survived by her husband Terry of Hamilton; her son, Dean Fowler and his wife Lori of Williston, ND; her daughter, Damian Ward and husband David of Hamilton; her sister, Ariel Elmore and husband Dave of Hamilton; her brother, Thane Atwood and wife Lynne of Centerville, UT; grandchildren, Aspyn Fowler of Missoula, and Jaimie Fortune of Hamilton, Kelsey Fortune of Florence, and Callen Fortune of Hamilton; and 1 great-grandchild, Jaedyn Fortune of Hamilton.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Risa's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
