VICTOR - Robert Ernest Bruhnke, 87, died peacefully at home on July 19, 2009, with his wife, Pegge, by his side.
Bob was born in Chicago on December 9, 1921, to Ernest and Theresa Bruhnke. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1941, where he proudly served our country for 6 years. Bob worked as a linesman for Illinois Bell for 21 years before moving west to Jackson Hole in 1971, where he worked for A-1 Electric, then Grand Teton National Park. In 1974, he married Pegge. They moved to Victor in 1985, where they've spent the last 24 years enjoying their dogs and cats, and working on their home and yard. Bob loved working with his hands, building intricate ship models, bird houses, cradles - you name it. If it was broken, he could fix it. He was a hard-working, good man who stood by his word.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his step-son, Mark Spencer. Surviving him are his wife, Pegge, his children, Scott, Dawn, and Todd, his stepchildren, Craig, Kim, 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
