Robert L. Flesche

Robert L. Flesche, 75, of Malta passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 with his wife and family by his side. Bob was born September 13, 1935 in Malta the son of Clarence E. and Mabel A. (Lodmell) Flesche.
- He was raised on a farm south of Malta and attended school in Malta, graduating from Malta High School in 1953. Bob was very active in the school bands beginning a lifetime of music. In his early years, Bob owned and operated the Hi-Line Enco gas station. After selling the service station he began working for Clausen-Long Ford. In 1971 he began working at Valley Motor Supply and remained there until 1978. On June 16, 1978 he married Darlene Rothie in Zortman, MT. In 1979 he went to work for American Colloid and in 1982 he started with Delta Ford. He then worked for Clausen and Sons and retired in 1993.
- Bob played bass guitar with many bands in Malta and across the Hi-line including, Benny and the Boys, the Buzz Trottier Family Band, Classic Country and most recently Night Train. He also played in many back up bands through the years for different country entertainers. He loved the Atlanta Braves and the Duke Blue Devils. He also loved to garden, play cards (especially whist), hunt and fish in his younger years, and eat ice cream. His greatest love was his grandchildren and he enjoyed playing with or talking with any little kid. He was a member of the Malta Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, the church music committee and sang in the church choir for many years.
- Bob was preceded in death by 2 sons; Tom and Craig Flesche; his parents; sisters; Gloria Booth and Joyce Clausen and brother, Stub Flesche. He is survived by his wife Darlene Flesche of Malta; daughters, Elizabeth Tillman and husband Kelly of Belgrade and Becky Quick and husband Dave of Helena; sons; Robert M. Flesche and wife Connie of Havre, Nate Flesche and wife Melissa of Los Angeles, CA and Bill Rothie and wife Judy of Hamilton; sister, Madelyn Anderson of Malta; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer and TC Flesche, Keegan, McKayl and Camron Rothie, Becca and Jenna Tillman and Madison and Conor Quick; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
- The family suggests that memorials be made in Bob's name to the Malta Lutheran Church, PO Box 1379, Malta, MT 59538.
