Robert "Bob" Koonz

CORVALLIS - Robert "Bob" Koonz, 87, peacefully passed away on Sept 15, 2011 at St. Patrick Hospital. He was born March 19, 1924 to Herald and Sophia Koonz.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 yrs, Barbara Koonz; daughter, Susie (Bob) Spalinger; grandchildren, Kerry Richmond and Tom (Julee) Spalinger; great-grandchildren, Cordell, Emmalee, Cole and Jacob.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mary, Tom, Jeanne and Jim.

Bob was devoted husband, father and grandfather. He took much pride in his home and was always eager to help others. He worked in construction, like his father, and enjoyed building and remodeling his homes. He was a volunteer fireman and served his country in the United States Coast Guard and was honorably discharged in 1946.
