HELENA - Robert has risen to the heavens on Feb. 15, 2015 to join his parents, Doris and Wayne, and his wife of 52 years Darlene. He will be enjoying his life's passion of hunting, bowling, golfing, cars and chatting with old acquaintances.
Robert was born September 26, 1936 in Missoula to Wayne and Doris Moderie. He was raised in Valley Creek on the family farm. Robert attended school at Valley Creek Lower and Upper schools till 8th grade. He went to Ronan High School his freshman year then went to Arlee High school his last 3 years until graduating in 1955.
Robert traveled to Wyoming and worked in a sawmill for a couple years and later moved back to Dixon. Then moved to Great Falls to work in a service station and met the woman of his dreams and later married her on August 6, 1960. In 1961 he moved back to Ronan and started working for Plum Creek Lumber where he worked his way up to the head sawyer at the mill until he retired in 1997. Then he and his wife moved to Helena to live closer to his girls.
Robert is survived by a brother, Dick (Keren) of Polson sister, Arlene (Ron) of Pablo; all his children, Scott (Belinda) of Ronan, Sheryl (Jim) of Helena, Shane (Shelley) of Hamilton and Sonya of Helena; along with five grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.
