Rodney L. Stenslie passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, in Kalispell, Montana.
He was born August 5, 1938, in Miles City, Montana, the son of Rosalie and Melvin Stenslie. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Andrea.
Rodney enlisted and served in the US Navy before entering the US Border Patrol in 1966. His career lead him to stops in Texas, California, Montana and Hawaii before settling into full-retirement in Montana. He was known for his wit and unwavering commitment to the many lives he impacted.
Rodney enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with friends, family and his grandchildren. Regularly sporting a US Border Patrol baseball cap, Rodney was particularly proud of his career and, over the years, shared many a story about his time as an agent. One of his favorite past times was spent catching up on the latest news and gossip, with his buddies over a good cup of coffee in the scenic town of Hamilton, Montana.
Rodney is survived by his former spouse, Phyllis Stenslie and their children, Chad (Michelle); grandchildren Mekennah and Madison; Roxanne (Mike); grandchildren, Brandon and Mary; and Zane (Karri); grandchildren Zach, and Jordyn Miller (Devon); great-grandchildren, Dillon, Rylee and Lainey. Also, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025 at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.
