It is with gentle sorrow that we announce the passing of Rohn Lee Kohler, a beloved husband, teacher, friend, and car enthusiast, on February 17, 2024. Born in Missoula, MT on May 24, 1943, Rohn led a life full of warmth, laughter, and indomitable spirit. His 80-year journey was marked by an unwavering love for people, education, and his home state of Montana. He lived a life that Henry Adams aptly described when he said, "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops."
Rohn's dedication to education was evident in his 30-year tenure as an Elementary Teacher in Clinton, where he infused each day with his quick wit and humor, invariably leaving a lasting impact on his students. His impressive academic journey saw him earning both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Montana where he was part of the Theta Chi Fraternity, a testament to his intellectual prowess and relentless pursuit of knowledge. His commitment to education was only rivaled by his affection for buying and selling cars, a hobby that brought him great joy and connected him with a diverse range of people.
Rohn's vibrant life was filled with love and companionship. His marriage to June Clark in 1968 blossomed into a beautiful partnership that lasted 56 years. Their bond was a testament to William Shakespeare's words, "When I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew." Rohn also had a soft spot for animals, particularly his five dogs, who were his faithful companions throughout his life. Survived by his wife, June of Hamilton; brother and sister-in-law, Mike nad Diane of Oregon; aunt, Theola Dufrense of Milltown; sister-in-law, Mary Clark of Helena; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Rohn's spirits will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita, and his father, Beverly.
In celebrating Rohn's life, we invite you to share your cherished memories and photographs on his memorial page. Let us remember him as a man who embraced life with enthusiasm, humor, and love, and whose legacy will continue to inspire many future generations.
