Ronnie Moorman

HAMILTON - Ron was born in Grass Valley California to Ralph and Kay Moorman. He was an identical twin to Randy Moorman.  Ron has two surviving siblings, his older sister Linda Moorman Couture and younger sister Sherry Moorman Ramirez.  He is also survived by 3 grown daughters that do not live in the area. He was very proud of them and missed them.

Ron has been residing in the Bitterroot Valley for many years and was a true outdoorsman.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and had recently discovered pontooning.  He loved working with wood and made many beautiful things on his lathe.  He enjoyed running his sawmill and built many projects from raw wood. These included fences, decks, lawn art and whatever his creative mind saw in a piece of wood.

Ron had retired from Discovery Care Center where he worked as the primary maintenance man for several years.  Ron loved visiting with the elderly and made many lasting friendships with them and their families.  He did maintenance work up and down the valley free of charge, but never turned down any kind of baked goods.  He had a great fondness for pies, cookies, cakes and breads.  He often bragged about the home baked gifts he received.

Many people will miss his visits.  Tammy and Bubba Riley are at the top of the list. Tammy made him his favorite sour cream raisin pie on special occasions and Bubba was as close as a brother.  They shared many adventures and home repair projects.

Ron inherited his mom’s green thumb and loved growing his vegetable gardens and sharing his bounty with friends and family.  He often experimented with new growing techniques he discovered online.  During the last couple of years, he discovered a passion for preparing and seasoning smoked meats and jerky that he loved sharing with everyone.

Ron contributed so much to our lives and will be greatly missed.  A memorial service is being planned for friends and family at a later date. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com
