Hamilton - Russell Brown, 90 of Hamilton passed away Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Discovery Care Center in Hamilton.
Russell was born December 19, 1919 in Williston, ND. to the late Clarence and Lettie May Davidson Brown.
- The family came to Victor in 1928 where he attended school and also at Dominic.
In 1941, he enlisted in the Army. He came ashore on the Normandy beaches on D-Day and spent most of his time in France and Germany. He was a member of the 234th Combat Engineer BN and received the Bronze Star Medal. He was discharged on Oct 22, 1945.
Russell married Ida Greenup after returning home from Europe. As a young man he enjoyed horses, hunting and the outdoors. He was a heavy equipment operator in construction in several places and was an Operating Engineer for 55 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ida, his parents, brothers, Everett and Earl, sister Fern and brother-in-law, Kenneth Roy.
Russell is survived by his brother Lloyd (Helen) of Council, ID and sister Pearl Roy of Hamilton.
The family suggests memorials to MDM Hospice, 1200 Westwood Dr., Hamilton, MT 59840 or a charity of the donor's choice.
