Ruth Bowen 64 died Saturday August 4, 2012 of heart failure at her home in Corvallis. She will be missed by all who knew her; she was a beautiful woman, a loving Mother, a great sister, a good friend, fun Grandma with a wonderful kind heart and so much love to give. Her life was uncomplicated, comfortable and satisfied. She enjoyed simple pleasures in life such as; rainbows, flowers, coffee in the morning, working in her yard, crafty projects in her house, and playing card games. Her delight in life was talking and spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, siblings and visiting with neighbors on her deck.
She was born May 26, 1948 in Conrad, Mt, the daughter of the late Walter Bodeen and Lucy Simpson. Ruth lived in several Montana cities growing up; she came from a large loving family with 12 other siblings. She attended school in Anaconda. Ruth married Elmer Bowen in 1965; they raised a family, later divorced in 1991. After many years in Anaconda she moved to the Bitterroot Valley to be closer to her family. She was then briefly married to Jeff Marvin from 1993 -1996. She remained happily single thereafter.
Ruth is survived by daughter Tamy Puccinelli, husband Paul, Grandson Brandon, and Granddaughters Amber and Rachell, and Great-Grandson Greyson Gomez all of Anaconda, daughter Belinda Smith, husband Don, of Orofino, Id. Grandson Luke and soon to be wife Lexi, Grandson Dallas both sons live in Lewiston, Id. Surviving brothers include: Ronald Bodeen of Alabama, Wesley Bodeen of Columbia Falls, Russell Bodeen of Maine, Rodney Bodeen of Hamilton. Surviving sisters include: Trudy Foltz of Missoula, Ruby Jackson of Stevensville, Robin Connor of Butte, Sandra Brown and Rose Malloy of Hamilton. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cynthia Messmer, and two brothers Roy and Ray Bodeen.
A celebration of Ruth's life will be held Saturday 1:00 pm. September 8th at the River Park and Trail 401 S. 9th St. Hamilton. All are welcome to come, gather and reminisce.
