Ruth Marie (Rummel) Lamoreux

CORVALLIS - Ruth Marie (Rummel) Lamoreux, 93, of Corvallis passed away on August 10 surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born to Frank and Nina Rummel on Nov. 2, 1920. She attended Corvallis Public schools. Following graduation she attended St Patrick's Nursing School in Missoula and received her LPN degree.

On April 4, 1941 she married Donald Raymond Lamoreux, and moved with him to Falls Church, Virginia where Donald worked on the construction of the Pentagon and Ruth was employed at a drug store and later as a dental assistant. She returned to the Rummel family ranch while Donald served in the SeaBees. Daughter Anita Kay was born there.

When Donald returned from the war the family settled on a small farm North of Corvallis where daughters Janice Ruth and Donna Lynn were born.

Together, Don and Ruth built a home on the East side of Corvallis where they moved in 1950. Son Lary Gene was born there.

For many years Ruth enjoyed being at home as a wife and mother. She returned to work as a dental assistant when her children were somewhat older.

She was a lifetime member of the Corvallis United Methodist Church where she was involved in many aspects of church life. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

After retirement, Ruth and Don enjoyed traveling and eventually purchased a home in Mesa, Arizona where they spent their winters.

Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald, daughter Anita and grandson Enoch Turner.

Ruth is survived by children, Janice (Dee) Smith of Cody, Wyoming, Lynn (Mike) Turner of Hamilton, and Lary (Dawn) Lamoreux of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Uriah Turner, Laura Lee (Todd) Nickerson, Pony Smith, Rachael LaCelle, Cale Lamoreux, and Christin Lamoreux; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Jacoby Nickerson.
