Samuel James Eric Fleming

March 5, 1992 — April 11, 2025

Hamilton

HAMILTON - Samuel James Eric Fleming was born March 5th, 1992, in Kansas City, Missouri, to James and Chrystle Fleming. He was the oldest, and his one sister, Ashia. He came from a large extended family and grew up with many friends. His family lived in small towns in Missouri over the years. Then in 2008 the Flemings came to Hamilton, Montana, where they fell in love with the mountains. Sam was 16 and appreciated the simple life of small-town living. His youth was full of hiking and mountain biking adventures.

In Montana, he pursued his goals of full-time service as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. This included volunteering his time as a full-time time Bible teacher in Hamilton, in the construction of Kingdom Halls, and for a few months volunteering in Guatemala. In 2014 he reached a cherished goal of working at the Headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses in Warwick, New York for about 2 years. There Sam experienced some of his favorite times in life. He often told stories of seeing God’s spirit in action on the construction project.

While working on the construction of various Kingdom Halls around Montana, in 2012 he met his future wife Hilaria Johnson. They were smitten right away but both wanted to focus on personal goals and grow as individuals before pursuing a courtship.  So for 3 years the pair stayed in touch but didn’t get together until Sam returned home from New York. Sam and Lari Fleming were married on March, 19th, 2016. Sam and Lari loved each other and loved serving Jehovah God together for 9 years.

Sam was funny, light-hearted, and interesting. He pursued many passions in crafts and creativity. He was always tinkering with or building something. He enjoyed using his mind for repair projects for just about anyone. Though he claimed to be a cat person, Sam loved their corgi, Potato.

Sam’s favorite scripture was Proverbs 17:17 “A true friend shows love at all times and is a brother who is born for times of distress”. This truly is how Sam treated people. He was a genuinely thoughtful and kind person. The kind of person who thought about practical ways to help people. Though he was quiet by nature, he took the initiative to speak to and understand people. Sam affected many people and he will be remembered as a caring person, a class clown who enjoyed cheering people up.

Sam is survived by his wife Lari; his parents, Jim and Chrys; his sister and brother-in-law, Ashia and Travis Johnson; and many family members and dear friends. We will remember the life he led and the way he treated people. We will remember Sam by his laughter, his kindness and the way he expressed love.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (301 Nicol Lane, Hamilton, MT).  Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.

Sam is gone too soon, but the ones who love him are waiting to see him again in perfect health on a paradise earth. Acts 24:15
