Sibyl Hunter Strang
Homeward Bound

Hamilton - Sibyl Hunter Strang left this earthly life peacefully on May 17, 2011. After 93 years she was finally ready to go home to be greeted by friends and family who have gone on before. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Daniel Wann Hunter, Ruth Helen Ventura, Wann Hamilton Hunter and Melvin Hamilton Hunter. Sibyl was the middle child in a family of nine children. Perhaps that contributed to her fiercely independent spirit. Of Sibyl it could certainly be said: "She lived life her way!"

Sibyl loved many things traveling, hiking, reading, sewing, the great outdoors, gardening, dogs, and especially, cats. Sibyl often had a twinkle in her eye and a wry sense of humor. She was a life time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She retired from the State of California in her early sixties and moved to Hamilton, Montana to be near her only daughter, Nola Nicole Strang Peters.

She is survived by her daughter,Nola, her loving granddaughter, Robin Heather Lewis, siblings Marceline Hunter Scott, James Hunter, and Harlo Hunter, great grandchildren, Noah Hunter Strang, Shaina Lynn Nilson, Logan Nilson, Megan Finnegan, Morgan Finnegan, Rita Ashlan Withrow as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and acquaintances who were exceedingly fond of her.

A memorial service celebrating Sybil's life will be held Friday, June 10th at 11:00 am at the Hamilton Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Doug Schallenberger presiding.
