Stanley M. Jex

Stanley M. Jex, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 7th at St. Patrick’s Providence Hospital in Missoula, Montana, surrounded by his loving family.

Stan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Catherine Jean Peterson Jex, whose unwavering love and support were a source of strength throughout their journey together. He leaves behind a cherished legacy through their five children: Christopher Jordan Jex (Pakiene) of Renton, Washington; Benjamin Michael Jex (Emily) of Spokane, Washington; Lindsey Elizabeth Shumway (Adam) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Jeremiah Daniel Jex (Shannon) of Kent, Washington; Jennifer Emily Nelson (Aaron) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and 19 adorable grandchildren, who brough immense joy to his life.

Stan was third of eight children that grew up in Renton, Wa. He is survived by Sterling, Stephen, Shari, Sheila, Valerie, Denise and Kevin.

Following his 1967 graduation from Renton High School, Stan enlisted in the United States Navy where he served on the USS Kitty Hawk and USS Ticonderoga during Vietnam. He forged bonds with his shipmates that lasted a lifetime.

Stanley was known for his dedication to his family, good heart, and his attention to detail. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of life will be held at the Corvallis Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 957 Eastside Highway, Corvallis, MT on August 10th, 2024. Viewing at 10:00 a.m., Funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Washington State on August 13th at 9:30 a.m. with full military honors.
