Stella June Mays

Stella June Mays was born 83 years ago on November 5, 1930 to Walter Clifford and Mary Emma "Mamie" Brewer. June passed away October 17, 2014 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, MT. She was born on the Wyoming prairie at the fish hatchery where her father worked at Daniel, WY.
She was raised tough and strong and spent her young years outdoors riding, wrangling and serving her family by working very hard. She married Elza (Slim) Decker when she was quite young but they later divorced. June was well known around Pinedale, Wyoming while working many years for rural dentist Dr. Smith.
In 1965, she met and married Homer B. Mays of Jackson, Wyoming. They spent many compatible ye3ars together, hunting, fishing, and roaming the back country of WY until Homer's death in 1983. June was owner/operator of Valley Dental Lab in Jackson, WY until she retired and moved to Darby, MT in 2003.
June was well known for her generous heart, willing helping hand, her most delicious cinnamon rolls and wonderful jellies that she lovingly shared with family and friends.
She is survived by stepchildren, Barbara Shervin, Rita Verley, Jerome Decker, Roger Decker. She is also survived by Homer's children, Allen (Shirley) Mays of Florence, MT and Ginny Weber of Hamilton, MT; grandchildren, Travis Mays of Lander, WY., Alana Durglo of St. Ignatius, MT., Shawna Heckeroth of Corvallis, MT., Toby Mays of Florence, MT., Stacey Weber of Hamilton, MT., and Lindsey Weber Riskowski of Martell, NE; twin sister, Laura "Jean" (George) Rahm of Daniel Junction, WY.; sister-in-law, Edie Brewer of Laramie, WY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and brothers, Bobby Joe Brewer and Clifford Brewer; step-sons, Shannon "Moose" Mays and Elza Decker; and Ginny's husband, Bob Weber.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 24th at Grace Lutheran Church in Hamilton, MT., 275 Hattie Ln., Hamilton, MT 59840.
A memorial service will also be held in Pinedale, WY., Saturday, Nov 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrews in the Pines, 524 Pine, Pinedale, WY.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church Youth or a charity of the donor's choice.
