Terrel "Terry" Coppinger

Terrel (Terry) L. Coppinger, 99 of Hamilton, was born on October 27, 1915 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He passed away May 22, 2015 in Hamilton, Montana.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Coppinger; mother, Edith Coppinger; brother, Jake Coppinger; son-in-law, James Wilson and grandson, Lary Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lucille Coppinger; daughters, Glenda Wilson of CA and Cathy Jones (Dwight) of Hamilton; grandchildren, Terry Wilson (Sheree), Jamie Wilson, Joey Wilson (Isabel), Gary Wilson (Sharon), Kristen McKinney and Kerri Wolfe (Oliver); ten great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Terry worked as a checker in a grocery store in Pecos, TX and then moved to California where he worked at Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank as a dispatcher. There he met the love of his life, his wife Lucille. They were married in Glendale, CA on Dec. 9, 1944. After WWII ended, they moved to Tulare, CA where he owned and operated automobile service stations for many years. Terry retired at the age of 75 from car sales and men's clothing sales. They resided in various parts of CA for 55 years before moving to Hamilton, MT in 2000 to be near part of his family.

He was a member of the Church of Christ since he was baptized at the age of 12 and was very active in the Hamilton Church of Christ. He loved deer hunting, fishing, and most of all playing golf, which he did into his 90's.

His family would like to thank Marcus Daly Hospital and Valley View Estates for the tender and loving care during his last weeks.
