VICTOR - Thelma E. Taylor, 75, of Victor passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital in Hamilton. She was born September 10, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York.

Thelma spent most of her youth in Philadelphia, Pa. and graduated from Jenkintown High School in 1957. She studied Medical Technology at Beaver College in Jenkintown before enlisting in the United States Air Force

Thelma was a Basic Airman when she was honorably discharged after three years of service, having trained in basic medicine at Lackland AFB in Texas.

After being discharged, Thelma moved to Belleville, Illinois where she raised her two young children while taking correspondence courses to become a city planner. Thelma also studied computer programming, and housing, renewal and code administration. Thelma worked as a community planner in Collinsville, Illinois from 1968 to 1976, where she met and eventually married Phillip Taylor, her late husband.

Thelma and Phillip Taylor moved to Hamilton in 1976 and built their dream log house in Lost Horse where they lived until 1992. Thelma and Phillip moved to Victor in 1992 where they operated their accounting and tax services known as Taylor Accounting.

Over the years Thelma has helped many families and businesses with taxes, estate planning, obtaining business licenses, water rights, and numerous other issues that takes cutting a lot of red tape and letter writing.

Thelma had many interests including racing and raising homing pigeons, creating beautiful stained glass art, knitting, and collecting a large amount of yarn.

Thelma was known for doing the big favors, and telling you exactly how it is.

Thelma is survived by her son Richard Renshaw, her daughter Sharon Renshaw, step-daughters Cindy and Collette Taylor, step-son Cary Taylor, and a vast amount of friends that loved her dearly.
