August 29, 1937 — September 22, 2013

CORVALLIS - Theodore O. Maxwell, "Ted", 76, of Corvallis passed away Sunday September 22, 2013 at the Marcus Daly Hospice and Palliative Center due to complications from multiple strokes. He was born August 29, 1937 in Peoria, Illinois, the oldest son of Okran Graves Maxwell III and Clara Elizabeth Owen.

Ted was raised in Illinois and in 1968 he moved to eastern Montana to work on a cousin's ranch. In 1970, Ted moved to the Bitterroot Valley. Ted managed jobs for Olin Construction and met Collette while working for this company in Williston, North Dakota. Ted and Collette married in 1976 and started T and C Construction building several custom homes in the Bitterroot Valley. When the housing market slowed Ted went to work as a job superintendent for Quality Construction until retiring after 22 years of employment. In 2000 Ted and Collette purchased a horse ranch in Corvallis, MT. Ted enjoyed helping with chores and visiting with friends until health began to fail.

Ted served as a volunteer fire fighter for the Hamilton Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Ted was a true "handy man" and was always working on some sort of construction or repair project around the house.

Ted is survived by his wife Collette of Corvallis; son, Heath Maxwell of Idaho Falls; daughters Heidi Boockholdt married to Darius Boockholdt of Eagle, Idaho and Julie Brown married to Kevin Brown of Pekin, Illinois. He is also survived by his brother Gary Maxwell of Whelming, Delaware. Ted has eight grandkids, Catherine and Ben Maxwell, Karis, Elise and Lucas Boockholdt and Dustin, Maegan and Cody Brown.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Marcus Daly Hospice Endowment Fund, 1200 Westwood Dr., Hamilton, MT 59840.
