Werner Henry Wolf, 85, of Hamilton, passed away on July 26, 2026. He was born on August 10, 1940, in Nürnberg, Germany, to Heinrich and Greta Wolf.

Werner grew up in Germany and later served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. His service took him back to Germany, stationed in Stuttgart, where he was injured in an accident.

Werner built a long and steady career as a tool‑and‑die maker with Western Electric/AT&T, where he worked for 30 years. His craftsmanship, precision, and pride in his work were well known among his colleagues.

Werner married Linda (Gibson), the love of his life, and together they built a life grounded in loyalty, humor, and shared adventure. A friend in Sula first invited Werner on a hunting trip to the Bitterroot Valley. From that trip, he fell in love with the valley. After returning home he told Linda they needed to come back the next year. They did, and in August of 1995, Werner and Linda made Hamilton their home.

Werner was an avid marksman, a renowned gunsmith, and an amateur photographer. He loved hunting and fishing, finding peace and purpose in the outdoors.

Werner was preceded in death by his parents, Heinrich and Greta Wolf.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Werner and Erik; his brother, Haus Günther; his niece and nephews Christopher, Theresa, and Mark; and his grandchildren Joseph Frost and Thomas Wolf.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to any Veterans Association or a charity of your choice, in Werner’s honor.
