William D "Bill" Malone

MISSOULA - William D. Malone, 75, passed away Tuesday, November 17th at Saint Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

Bill was born in Missoula February 18, 1934, to Eddie C. and Ruth Dunkin Malone. He spent his early childhood in Missoula, where he attended Central School. Later, the family moved to Hamilton, where he attended Grantsdale Elementary and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1952. He married Rochelle Foss in Hamilton on New Year's Eve, 1954. Bill worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Spokane for several years in the 1950's before returning to Missoula, where he attended the University of Montana and found his way into the insurance and real estate business. In 1968, the family moved to Hamilton, where Bill owned and operated the Malone Agency until his retirement in 1994. Bill and Rochelle returned to Missoula in 2002.

Bill is survived by his wife Rochelle, son Ed and wife Sheila of Nashua, and their children Dan (Nikki) Markle of Roundup and Chris (Syd) Markle of Oak Harbor, WA; son Scott and wife Jill of Highlands Ranch, Co, and their children Brian (Krystal) Chouinard of Billings, Jacque Chouinard of Glasgow, Shelby Malone of Los Angeles, and Thomas Malone of Highlands Ranch; daughter Roxanna and husband David McGinnis and their children Andrew, Matthew, and Jasmine, all of Turah; sisters Lois Pruitt of Tacoma, Ruth Hart and Bonnie Eldon all in Washington, and Myrtle Idland in Arizona; four great-grandchildren, and many neices, nephews, and cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Lillian Dickensheets, Carolyn Gearhart, and an infant brother, Elvis.
