William (Bill) Edward Bourne, age 78, passed away in Hamilton on July 5 after several months of declining health.
Bill was born January 9, 1937 in Butte to George and Nellie (Rowe) Bourne. He was raised in Butte and Victor and held various jobs as a young man, including working in the Butte mines with his father. Bill married Patricia Cox on March 17, 1972 and resided on Lost Horse Road. He worked for the Ravalli County Road Department for 30 years maintaining county roads. Bill was a faithful husband, dad, stepdad, grandpa, and friend. He was a believer in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and a member of the Mountain View Wesleyan Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his infant twin brother Edwin, and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Patricia Bourne of Hamilton; son William G. Bourne III of Hamilton and granddaughter Carly Bourne; daughter Rebecca (Mark) Seitz of Helena and grandsons Nevan, Ezekiel, and Caleb Seitz; stepson Tom Kimp of Hamilton; stepdaughter Carrie Kimp of Vancouver, Washington; stepson Mark (Isabelle) Kimp of Paris, France; seven step grandchildren: Mindy (Glenn) Hogan, Katie Kimp, Nicholas (Junko) Maroudas, Christopher Maroudas, Rachel Maroudas, Sandra Kimp, and Diane Kimp; five step great-grandchildren: Eamon Kimp, Macy and Tucker Hogan, and Athena and Achilles Maroudas.
Bill loved to camp with his family, fish with his friend Jerry Schmitt, and "take five" with a cup of coffee and conversation with friends. He loved to hear and tell jokes. Bill could creatively fix anything around the house or on wheels. He will always be loved and missed by those who knew him best.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 18 at Mountain View Wesleyan Church, 185 Golf Course Road, Hamilton, MT 59840 officiated by Rev. Doug Goodell and son-in-law Rev. Mark Seitz. Friends and family are invited to share in a potluck brunch reception following the service at the church.
Memorial donations toward final expenses for Bill Bourne may be made to the Mountain View Wesleyan Church Benevolence Fund.
