Winston Eric Hayden, 87 of Hamilton passed away March 25, 2024 at his home in Hamilton.
Winston was born February 1, 1937 in American Falls, Idaho. He grew up in Darby, MT and moved to Hamilton in 1960 where he resided until his death. He raised four sons, Leroy Schaffer, Jack Schaffer, Shane Hayden and Craig Hayden. He was preceded in death by his brother Byron Hayden and his parents Matilda and Marion Hayden.
Winston served in the Montana Army National Guard from 1954 to 1965. He specialized in the art of Machining and Welding and could build and repair just about anything. He became self employed with a Machine Shop and Welding equipment. He was later employed by the US Forest Service in the area of development and manufacturing until his retirement. Even in retirement he remained busy in his favorite trade, “drivelines.”
He was a devoted husband living with and caring for his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Hayden. He was an active and helpful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was also a loving, caring and helpful member of the Hamilton Community.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the Hamilton Seventh Day Adventist Church, 117 West Bridge Rd., Hamilton. Food and refreshments will follow.
