Zona Frances Fuchs

HAMILTON - Zona Frances Fuchs, 90, of Hamilton passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the Marcus Daly Hospice and Palliative Care Center. She was born October 3, 1924 in Durham, NC.
Zona was raised and educated in Durham on a farm. After graduating from high school she attended Business College in New Bern, NC. This is where she met and married Edward A Fuchs on October 14, 1944.
After Ed retired in 1987, together they moved to Hamilton. Zona enjoyed being part of the community and found many friends through the church.
Zona was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers and vegetables. She volunteered a lot of time to helping people in need, including giving rides to the home bound. She also volunteered her time to the local blood bank. Zona was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hamilton and the Hamilton Golf Club.
Zona was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Fuchs; her son, James F. Fuchs; and 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Richard W. Fox; 2 grandchildren, Edward J. Fox and Leah A. Fox all of Renton, WA; 1 brother, Robert Holloway of Nashville, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
