Audrey Alice Hobbs passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her daughters at the age of 84 on December 16, 2021. Audrey's childhood began in 1937 in Missoula, Montana. She was one of three children, a brother Ronald Lee and a sister Myrna Neal. She was raised by her widowed mother Emily Lee, in the event of her father's death when Audrey was two years of age.
Her mother later married Carl Linville and they moved to a small farm in Victor. She loved the people of Victor and spoke fondly of going to school there. They later moved to Grantsdale and she went to high school in Hamilton.
Audrey met Ralph Hobbs, whom she married on March 14, 1954. Ralph worked for Culligan Water Company and then the State Highway Department until he retired. They had three daughters, Jeanette, Arlene, and Connie. In 1958, they were able to buy property on Cooper Lane in Hamilton where they made their family's lifelong home.
Audrey worked as a cosmetologist for nine years of her marriage. She enjoyed working at the Lady Bug Salon in Hamilton. She loved family, camping, fishing, gardening, sewing, and was a beautiful artist making her family many keepsakes to remember her by. She was a woman of strong opinions, but had a heart of gold. She was private in her faith but loved the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Lee and our beloved Gram Emily Lee (Linville); and brother Ronald Lee; her husband Ralph, passed away on Feb 26, 2003.
In addition to 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, Audrey is survived by her sister, Myrna Neal; daughters, Jeanette (Steve) Pliley of Hamilton, Arlene (Bob) Bailey of Corvallis, and Connie (Brian) Lawrence of Hamilton.
She will be missed by all who loved her family and friends. May you be at peace Mom!
The family will be having a private celebration of Audrey's life at a later date. The family suggests the memorials be made to the Bitterroot Health Hospice, 1200 Westwood Drive, Hamilton, MT 59840.
