Bertie Lee Senn

HAMILTON – Bertie Lee Senn, age 94 of Hamilton, passed from this life May 16, 2023, at Bitterroot Health in Hamilton.

Bertie was born August 9, 1928, in Hammon, Oklahoma to Bertha and John Lambert, who were later divorced.  Bertha and Bertie moved to Butte, Montana in 1932 where Bertha married Steve Encoff. The family moved to Hamilton in 1935, where Mom enrolled in the Hamilton Schools and attended classes through 1946. Mom married Kenneth Dye in 1946 and brought a daughter, Kenda into this world, followed by son Kenny in 1950. Mom and Kenneth were later divorced.

Bertie married Adam Senn in 1952. Adam and Bertie started a truck farm in Hamilton in 1957, where they lived until Adam’s passing in 2015.

Bertie worked for JCPenney Co. in Hamilton for twenty-seven years as a bookkeeper, she was very good with numbers and was a meticulous accountant.

Mom loved to garden; her knowledge could fill volumes. Folks passing by the garden were quickly drawn to her and became long-time friends, attracted by her warmth, generosity, kindness and easy way.

Survivors include: daughter, Kenda Barenburg of Gilbert, Arizona, Son, Kenneth Senn, of Hamilton, Montana, Grandson, Caleb Senn and wife Dannielle, of Hamilton, Montana, Grandson Ryan Senn and wife Stephanie and great grandson Finnley and great granddaughter Kinsley, all of Kalispell, Montana, and three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, all of Phoenix, Arizona.
