If Roses Grow in Heaven
Lord, please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my Mother’s arms
And tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day.
But there’s an ache within my heart
That will never go away.
Cheryl Ann Mohlman was born on December 15, 1939, in Duchesne, Utah to John Willard and Cleo Allen Mohlman.
As a child, Mom’s summer days were spent with her sister Marilee, brother Johnnie, and faithful dog Shep playing, rafting, and swimming on the land, streams, and pond of her grandfather’s power plant in Roosevelt Utah.
Mom’s life was full - Full of everything! Family, friends, love, gratitude, and children. Lots of them! 11 babies to raise as her own, 1 baby girl lost at birth, and 11 others who called her “Aunt Cheryl”
Along with her 21, every child at Pines Academy, from 1983 to 2015, loved her as the kind lady in the office who mended tears and wounded knees. Mom met our Daddy, Louis Rulon Allred in 1955 and they were married on August 29, 1959, in a double ceremony with her sister Marilee and Larry Arnoldsen. Her life journey took her growing family from Provo, Utah to Lompoc California, back to Utah and eventually to Pinesdale, MT. Here, she raised her family. Mom made friends easily with her gift of gab and interest in others, including loving inquiries of “what are you having for dinner?” After Dad’s passing in 1984, Mom married Lyman Dee Jessop, the second “love of her life” in May of 1985.
Mom’s children, Daniel, Heidi (Jess), Holli (Grant), Erin (Mike), Brynn, Mary Mielle (Joseph), Peter (Loralin) David (Andrea), Jacob (Janelle), Jarom (Shanalee), Ralayne (Lex), her other children: Sharon, Patrick, Joseph, Ruth, Ann Marie, Adam, Michele, Marcia, Marc, Todd and Michael will miss her and simultaneously rejoice as we picture her reunions while she walks her newest journey.
Mom was blessed with 12 children, 62 grandchildren, 29 great granddaughters and 30 great grandsons; 1 great great grandson is due to be born in October.
Surrounded by her children, Mom passed peacefully at her home. Her parents, both Sweethearts, 1 daughter, and 3 grandchildren welcomed her home on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
A Celebration of Mom’s life will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022. 11:00am at Pines Academy Chapel.
