Cletus LeVon Gerig

HAMILTON - Cletus L. Gerig went to be with Jesus Christ our Lord, July 15, 2020 surrounded by family at his residence.  Clete was born September 19, 1929 in Woodburn Indiana to Daniel and Wanda Miller Gerig.

Clete married Barbara Jo Terral, whom he met in Solana Beach, CA. They were married for 70 years. They made their home in Solana Beach and then moved to Montana, in 1996, to be with their children and grandchildren. Clete was a veteran of the Korean War.

They were blessed with three children, Deborah L. Whaley, of Hamilton, Jeffery B. Gerig, of Kennewick, WA, and David C. Gerig, of George Town, TX. They blessed them with grandchildren, Daniel Griffiths Whaley, Kendra Whaley Fledderman, Kiah Whaley Nisly, Brandon Gerig, Megan Gerig Schut, Christopher Gerig, David Raymond Gerig, Johanna Gerig Kreczmer, Jesseca Gerig Poe, Jaiden Gerig, and 13 great grandchildren and, 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Wanda, and three of his sisters, Evelyn, Deloris, and Carol. One sister, Karen Gerig Shaffer is living in CA with her husband and family.

The Family is very thankful for the care given to him by Marcus Daly Hospice team and all of those at the Hamilton VA. We want to thank all of those who helped with him being able to live out his last days at home.
