Darvin Thomason Obituary

VICTOR - We are immensely saddened to announce that our beloved Darvin Jacob Thomason passed away on October 25th, 2021. Born on October 9th, 2005 in Hamilton, Montana, named after the late Darvin Gary Rall.

Darvin Thomason was kind, courageous, adventurous and loving from the time he was born until his passing. He enjoyed all things outdoors. A true Montana boy. From hunting and fishing, to shooting guns and spending an abundant amount of time in the mountains, particularly at the Victor “V”.  One specific passion that he conquered from a very young age was to irritate his older sister even though they both knew it was just “sibling love.”

Darvin attended Victor School throughout most of his childhood, while spending 6th and 7th grade at Corvallis Middle School before returning to Victor. He had a passion for Carpentry class which he would utilize his learnings in future jobs. He participated in FFA, 4-H, wrestling, football, and basketball.  A memory not forgotten is the first time Darvin received a foul and was to shoot a free throw.  Unaware of what he needed to do, he stood by his coach while the spectators wondered if he had ever watched a game of basketball.  He made that free throw, nothing but net and walked away with a smile on his face, humbled.  This story speaks volumes about the way Darvin carried himself.

He had a work ethic beyond his years.  Spending time at his Uncle Bob’s mill; shoveling sawdust  and gathering firewood.  He applied his carpentry skills in the construction and concrete industry.  In his free time, you could find him mowing his grandmother and surrounding neighbor’s lawns and bucking bales on those hot summer days.

Darvin would do anything to put a smile on someone’s face.  Electing to embarrass himself, which happened often, just to see a smile and hear the laughter.  He would find the light in the darkness, the happy in the sorrow.  He was well known throughout this valley for his tomfooleries.  The true “life of the party.”

Our family was not expecting the loss of Darvin, for his life to be cut so short, so soon. We are devastated by this loss and know our family and his friends will feel the absence of Darvin for eternity.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother Franni Rall (Kyle), father Ben Thomason, sister Emma Thomason (Kyle), grandparents Katy and Robert Searle, Uncle Bob (Shaneesta) Searle, Aunt Candace Searle and Aunt MaryAnn (Fidel) Quinonez, Nieces Alice Searle and Cami Dunbar.  Many other treasured family members and friends.

His memorial service will be held at Victor High School Gymnasium on Saturday, October 30th at 10:00 am.  Darvin will lay to rest at the Corvallis Cemetery next to his dearly loved grandfather, Darvin Rall.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
