Edwin Y. Brisendine

CORVALLIS - Edwin Brisendine, 90, of Corvallis passed away Thursday July 20, 2023, joining his son Timothy Brisendine.  He died doing something he loved, gardening.  He was born on July 20, 1933, in Dallas, Texas.  Some of you know him as Brizzy, we know him as dad and grandpa. 

He was raised in Texas and shared fond memories growing up, working hard to make ends meet with his grandmother.  He joined the Army at an early age where he received his education.  He was a Korean War Veteran, although he did not boast about his time in the service.  After his time of service he met his wife, Georgia, he says as soon as he saw her he knew she had to be his and made life changes that brought all of his family into existence.  He adored his wife and family until his last day.    

He retired from Boeing after having many other jobs in his life.  He was active in his community.  He lived in Washington State with his wife and five children, until retirement where he moved to Montana for a slower pace.  He was the cute older man found at the farmers market that made jewelry and often gave it away.  He could be found asleep at the casino “playing” a machine.  He enjoyed being with all the people at the senior center playing BINGO giving people a hard time.  Most people knew him as a rock hound that made great jewelry and had a quirky personality.

He is survived by his wife Georgia of Corvallis, three daughters Cindi Kestell, Linda Wheeler, Lori Boucher; two sons Joe Brisendine and Spencer Brisendine; his brother Howard H. Brisendine.  He had many grandchildren and great grandchildren of which he enjoyed holding, hugging and spoiling through the years.
