CORVALLIS - Elmer Scanland, age 66 of Corvallis, Montana, passed suddenly into eternity, Monday, September 6, 2021. Elmer was born on June 8, 1955, the second child of Glen and Leona Scanland, of Corvallis. As a teenager, he chose to serve God and live as Jesus taught.
Elmer enjoyed a life of farmer on the family farm, east of Corvallis. As well as planting and harvesting, Elmer enjoyed raising cattle, sheep, and mules. He loved to see new life whether a calf, lamb, or growing field. He was able to enjoy it to the end as he cut hay, earlier this summer. As his health permitted, he enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing. He was very happy to shoot an elk on the family farm just this past hunting season.
Elmer helped build the local irrigation pipeline and had been managing it since 1988. He will be missed by many, including his brother, Duane (MaryAnn) Scanland; sister, Lois Scanland; nephew, Shane (Jessica) Scanland; nieces, Alice Scanland and Angie (Jacob) Cooper; three great-nephews, Ean, Ethan, and Emmett Scanland.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2021, at Daly-Leach Chapel. He will be laid to rest with his dad, in the Corvallis Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com
