Eva S. Lang

HAMILTON - Eva Sarah Lang, 89, of Hamilton passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19th, at the Beehive Homes Harding house. She had been a resident there for 7 months.  Eva was born on August 12, 1928 in Canfield, Ontario, Canada.  She was the 2nd born of 4 children.  

Eva finished the 8th grade, and then went away to work.  Since she loved children, Eva got a job at an orphanage.  She then went to Toronto and worked as an elevator operator until she met Marvin.  They had a whirlwind engagement of 3 weeks, and were married on May 17th, 1955.  Right after getting married, Eva and Marvin loaded up their little Austin and headed to California to begin their new life together.  On March 17, 1963 they brought home a baby girl for adoption at 3 days old, and named her Sandra Gay.

Eva became a home maker, dedicating herself to Marvin and her daughter.  She loved baking, canning, sewing, & gardening.  Eva and Marvin were members of the Fairmont Seventh Day Adventist church in Lodi. The family enjoyed going in parades with their ponies and carts, and Eva always made the decorations and the costumes they would wear. The family would take trips back to Canada some summers to see their relatives there.  After daughter, Sandra and son-in-law, Steve had their daughters, Eva was always available to watch them and they both brought her great joy. When Marvin's health started failing due to Alzheimer’s disease, they moved to Montana to be with Sandra and Steve.

Marvin passed away at Valley View Estates in January of 2005.  Eva remained in Hamilton living with Sandra and Steve until she could no longer do so, and went to Discovery Care Centre in their assisted living wing.  She was then moved to Beehive Homes in October of 2017, which was her final home.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ruby Bird; and her younger brother, Arthur Bird.  Eva is survived by her daughter, Sandra Olds and son-in-law Steven; her 2 granddaughters, Rachel Miller of Hamilton and Caitlyn Sargent and husband Zachary of Stevensville; six grandchildren; Randall Miller; her older sister, Mary Buder and younger sister, Christine Pogson and husband Bill; and numerous nieces and nephews of Canada.

Eva will be remembered as a dedicated and loving wife of almost 50 years, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She and Marvin were friends to many, because of their big hearts, generous nature, and willingness to always help out where needed.  They were truly a blessing to all that knew them.  Eva was also a mother to many of Sandra's friends growing up, as they were always at the house keeping

Sandra company since she had no siblings.  She was loved by many, and will be dearly missed.  She was a believer and we know that Heaven has welcomed another angel, and that she will be reunited with her beloved husband, Marvin, and her other loved ones who have went before her.
