Flora Alice Tinder Stephens, 98 years old, was born November 1, 1919 in Bozeman, MT. She went to be with the Lord January 20, 2018 at Discovery Care Center in Hamilton surrounded by family.
She was married to Elmer L. Stephens on September 5, 1936, they were married 57 years and blessed with seven children: daughters, Flora Lee (Steve) Firkins of Corvallis, Iris (Emery) Brunett of Laramie, WY., Elaine (Lowell) Stevens of West Richland, WA., Shirley (Buster) Bain of Hamilton, MT; sons, Tom (Jodie) Stephens, Bob (Helen) Stephens, Gary (Bev) Stephens; sister, Betty Desaquirant of San Lorenzo, CA; and an amazing 100 grandchildren.
Our mothers love was a gift from God. Mom and Dad’s happiest times were when they were with their children and grandchildren. After Dad’s passing in 1993, mom lived in Corvallis until 2005 then moved in with her daughter Flora Lee for 12 years.
She enjoyed traveling with her family to Laramie, WY, Coeur D’Alene, ID., Spokane, WA., 2 trips to Hawaii, Yellowstone Park, Disneyland, family reunions in California, and all the fun Summer family get togethers.
She loved to watch football, especially the Griz, Denver Broncos and Raiders. The last few months her new home was at Discovery Care Centre. The love and care she received from everyone there made her last days special. She loved visiting and kidding around with all the care givers. She also looked forward to church and bible study at the Centre. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer L. Stephens; parents, Thomas L. and Ina Tinder; step-children, Kathryn Della Rosa, Earl William Stephens, Darlene Iris Lupo; son-in-laws, Stephen Firkins and Emery Brunett; grandbabies, Keith Lowell Stevens, Randy Lloyd Stevens and Buster Floyd Bain Jr.
Please join us for a celebration of Flora’s life, at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Jan 26th at the Daly-Leach Chapel. Interment will follow at Corvallis Cemetery, followed by a reception in the Daly-Leach Community Room.
