George Lee Koelling

George Lee Koelling, of Corvallis, MT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9th, 2020 at age 86. He was born September 2nd, 1933 in Evanston, Illinois.

George graduated from high school in 1951. He married Joan B. Koelling on March 13, 1973.

George and Joan moved to Corvallis in 1978 and had a home built with a great view of the Bitterroot Valley. They brought a 20 ft camper and lived in it until their new home (of George’s childhood dream and design) was built.

George was the Maintenance, Bus, and Custodial Supervisor at Corvallis High School and he had many fond memories of all the students and staff.

George was an auto enthusiast and enjoyed watching most forms of racing and you could always find him tinkering around with his car.

George was preceded in death by Joan Beverly Koelling (Markl) loving wife, Ruby J. Koelling (Miller) mother, John H. Koelling (father), Johnny Koelling (brother), Donald Koelling (brother), and Barbara Koelling (sister in law, wife to Donald), and Teri Gates (Zakrzewski Roche) step-daughter.

He was survived by his sons, Bruce G. Koelling (Diane), Keith L. Koelling (Margie), and daughter Malia J. Norman (Koelling), and step-daughters Jan Dent (Roche), and Kim Siminic (Roche) and Barb Koelling (wife of Johnny Koelling).

Before moving to Montana in 1978 George worked for ITT Bell & Gossett, and Wieboldts where in 1973 he met his loving wife (Joan) of 47 years.

He had eighteen grandchildren being: Colleen, Paul, Punky, Ronnie, Ryan, Amy, Timothy, Daniel, Kenneth, David, Sara, Angela, Erik, Anna, Aaron, Leanne, Tony, and Johnny.

And eight great grandchildren, being: Arthur, Enzo, Shelby, Haley, Leia, Mila, Tristin and Auston.

Per George’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
