STEVENSVILLE - Gregory William Russ was born on August 16, 1968 in Columbus, Ohio. He left this earth to be with God and his grandparents on November 22, 2021. Greg and his siblings were raised in central Ohio. He attended Worthington High School and was a lettered varsity swimmer. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors degree in Communication. He was a talented writer. Greg was a political junkie, he could discuss most any topic and get an active interaction going.
By age 4 Greg was diagnosed with severe asthma and had many trips to Children’s Hospital. At age 8, he was diagnosed with a seizure disorder of unknown origin. At age 25 he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Despite his many health issues for 53 years he has moved courageously forward.
There were times when it seemed more than he could handle, but he kept going. As a young child until about 15 years old Greg was a gifted pianist. Greg’s seizure disorder impacted his memory and he was unable to memorize music for recitals and other opportunities.
Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emil and Marie Russ and John and Beatrice McCallister and his Uncle John McCallister. Greg leaves behind his parents, Charles (Carl) and Sandra Russ, sister Katharine, brother Ronald, sister-in-law Suzanne and niece Anna and nephew Owen and his cat, Rebel.
