Irene Sawyer

Irene Sawyer, 91, It is with a sad heart, that our mother Irene Sawyer has passed away on the 16th of July 2021.

Irene was born in Golden Valley North Dakota to Albert and Leona Mai.  She moved to Hamilton when she was 9 where she met Norma Sawyer who then introduced her to her future husband and history was made. Mom loved to go fishing and camping. But her true passion was bowling. Many new her through bowling after working there for almost 30 years. Can't say enough about her amigos Nancy, Sam, and Judy.  Thank you for being her friend. And to Bob and Donna Adair, Johnny and Linda Characky, for whom we have always considered our family.

Survivors are daughters, Loretta Mikalotas, Barbara Kortum, Leila and John Parsons Sawyer, all of Anacoda and Mary Sawyer of Hamilton; son, Bob Sawyer Anaconda; grandchildren, Deanna Hannah, Dean Sawyer, Santana Caballero, Tom Sawyer, Liberty Kuennen, Nick Nikalotas, Ron Sawyer, Michael Sawyer, Sean Sawyer, and Amanda Sawyer and 28 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Vivian Mckeaque; and all of her nieces and nephews each and every one of you were held dearly in her heart.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Huck) Sawyer; son, Jack Sawyer; son in law, Ted Mikalotas, and Kaden Chaline Kuennen.

Services will be held at Daly-Leach Chapel on the 4th of September at 1:00 pm in Hamilton Montana. Following the services, we will meet at the Hamilton Eagles Lodge where Irene was a member for many years. All who knew her are welcome.
