Corvallis – Janet Sue Toomey, 80 of Corvallis passed away June 9, 2021, at her home in Corvallis.
She was born March 26, 1941, in Los Angeles, California to the late Peggy and Woody Gibson. Janet graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California.
Jan married Edward (Ed) Toomey on March 1, 1969. They met in San Francisco, in 1968. They then resided in Napa California, from '72-'79. From there they made Pleasanton, California, home from '79-2000 where they raised their son, Patrick. Jan cherished those years in Pleasanton. Ed's work later took them to Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, from 2000-2018. Throughout these years they took many trips to Europe and 1 to Japan. Ireland was close to their hearts. After 50 years of marriage Ed passed away peaceful at home. Jan moved to Corvallis, Montana to live their son Patrick.
Jan loved to collect cookbooks, at one point she had a total of 5,000. Singing Karaoke, listening to music, playing cards with friends and family, bonfires, and casino reel games were among her favorite things to do.
She is survived by her son, Patrick (Dawn) of Corvallis; grandson, Liam of Missoula; granddaughter, Meaghan of Missoula; step-grandchildren, Braden and Samuel of Bozeman and Alyssa and Adam of Corvallis; brother, Jim (Beth) Gibson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the Corvallis Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Childs presiding. A Celebration of Her Life Party will follow at 589 Bass Lane, Corvallis, Montana.
