HAMILTON - Janet “Peggy” Arlene Freeman Andersen, 84, of Hamilton passed away Monday, Nov 16, 2020 at The Beehive Homes of Hamilton, Montana. She was born September 21, 1936 in Fargo, North Dakota, the daughter of the late Leigh A. and Mabel A. Freeman.
Janet graduated from Fargo (ND) Central High School, in 1954, and from California State University Sacramento, in 1970. She began her teaching career in Chester, Montana, in 1957, and retired from the Amador County Schools in California, in 1989.
On April 24, 1957, she married Morris E Andersen in Shelby, MT. After retiring in 1994, they moved to Hamilton, MT. Janet was active in singing groups, The Bitterroot Humane Association, and a member of the United Methodist-American Baptist Church of Hamilton, MT.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Morris Eugene Andersen; parents, Leigh and Mabel Freeman; sisters, Edna, Ethel, Sister Geraldine, and Marjorie; brothers, Charles, Richard, Walter, Neil, and Norman.
She is survived by children, Paul, Laurel and John; grandchildren, Paul, Bridget, and Veronica; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Leilani, Nolan, Joshua, and Stevie.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2021.
