Judith Ann Barrett (Judy), 82 years of age, passed away peacefully at her home in Lolo, Montana on April 16, 2020. She was born on February 22, 1938 in Logansport, Indiana to Earl and Leone Jackson. At the age of 7 years old, Judy was struck with polio, but fully recovered. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Indiana in 1956 and thereafter attended art school in Chicago, Illinois. In 1958, Judy married her high school sweetheart, Ted Barrett, and moved to California where they raised three children together. For 25 years and before retiring in Montana, Judy worked as an elementary school teacher. Judy was a talented artist and illustrator, and enjoyed making beautiful blankets and scarves. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was exceptionally kind to people, had a gentle and calm personality, a gift for storytelling and a great sense of humor. In addition to these attributes, she had the strength of her convictions and was a devoted Christian. Her faith in the Lord and strength of will helped her recover from her first stroke a few years ago. After suffering a second stroke this past October, she never lost her faith, her strength of will, nor her kindness and gentleness.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ted, and her daughter, Stephanie, Judy is survived by her son Charles, of Lolo, and her daughter Melissa, son-in-law Paul, and two grandchildren Emily and Hayden of Elk Grove, California. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
