Leona was married to Glen Scanland on April 7, 1953. They came to the Bitterroot Valley and lived east of Corvallis on the same property for the rest of their lives.
Leona spoke of milking cows in the morning and walking two miles to school. She would tell that her parents got a milking machine when she went to college. She worked for Lewistown Sears and Roebuck as a bookkeeper before marrying.
Leona knew the comfort of a living faith in God from her youth and cherished many friendships. Friends and family have long enjoyed frequent letters, emails and phone calls which will be missed. As a travel agent she and Glen enjoyed traveling to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South America. After raising her three children, Leona worked in the travel agency business£ retired from Farmers State Bank and worked with the Bitterroot Irrigation District. Through it all the cookie tin in her kitchen was never empty.
