Lynda Lucille Brady

Lynda Lucille Brady passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington as her son, daughter and son-in-law held her hands and prayed with her as she transitioned into Heaven. Lynda is remembered fondly by an abundance of friends and family for her bubbly personality, her love of laughter, and for her giving and selfless heart. She often said she felt her purpose in life was to help others, and in particular – seniors and the disabled. She made a difference in many vulnerable people’s lives and left an impact on their hearts that will never be forgotten. 

Lynda was born in Great Falls on July 16, 1959, to Dale and Clairice Brady. The Brady family moved to Hamilton in 1971. Throughout her youth, Lynda was a constant presence at Faith Lutheran Church, often playing the piano and organ with her sister, Lori, at Christmas Eve service. She loved being a part of Campfire Girls, attending Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp for several summers, and playing the clarinet in the marching band at Hamilton High School. Lynda attended Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, and Kinman Business University in Spokane studying business and taxes. She worked at Ravalli County Bank in Hamilton and later went on to own and operate business accounting and tax service operations in Arizona and Nevada.

Lynda ultimately settled in Elko, Nevada with her two children, Tyson Falk and Marysa (Falk) Stevens. 

To know Lynda, was to know that her children were the most important part of her life. 

When they were younger, she sewed their Halloween costumes and always put special touches on every holiday, special occasion, or school event. She was the biggest cheerleader on the sidelines for Tyson’s soccer and basketball games, and always supported Marysa in her extracurricular activities and big dreams.  She believed in her children’s abilities to accomplish anything they set their minds to. 

When Tyson and Marysa moved to Reno to attend the University of Nevada, Lynda became a ‘Wolf Pack mom’ and spent 15 years cheering along with her kids, never missing a football or basketball game on TV watching from Elko. 

While in Elko, Lynda worked faithfully as a property supervisor for 17 years managing apartments for elderly, handicapped and disabled residents. She made sure every tenant never felt lonely by hosting Bingo parties, and Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. She truly lived to serve others and give a dignified life to our society’s most vulnerable. 

Lynda loved traditions and passing them on to her children. She made sure her children became experts in the game of pinochle, a game she learned from her parents. She passed down well-loved recipes like Breakfast Casserole and Mom’s Taco Dip, and appreciation for the classic show I Love Lucy. 

Lynda was also so proud of her son-in-law Alex, a physician, and former Army Major. In 2017, Lynda welcomed her first and only grandchild, Josephine Callie Stevens. Josie was the light of Lynda’s life. In July 2020, Lynda retired and spent 8 weeks in Hamilton with her family, a treasured time before her father passed away in May 2021. In September 2020, Lynda moved to Lacey, Washington to be near Marysa, Alex and Josie. She lived just a mile from them and established new traditions with Josie whenever she would visit “Nana,” like sharing popsicles and playing puzzles and memory games. Josie spent many hours in a little rocking chair that was Lynda’s when she was Josie’s age. 

When Lynda was 6 years old, she was playing in front of her house and a neighborhood boy was shooting bow and arrows. An arrow struck Lynda in the eye, but missed striking her cornea by a millimeter. Her vision was never affected by the incident. Per her generous wishes, Lynda’s corneas were donated to help improve the vision of two blind people. A fortuitous event that embedded Lynda’s legacy as a person so selflessly giving to help improve other’s lives. 

Lynda is survived by her son Tyson Falk, daughter Marysa (Alex Stevens), granddaughter Josie, mother Clairice, sister Lori Swenson (Dave), brother Nathan Brady (Amanda), niece, nephews, and countless cousins from the Brady and Forseth families. Lynda is preceded in death by her father Dale Brady. 

Services for Lynda will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Hamilton, Montana, on Friday, September 17 at 3 p.m.
