Lynn Gordon was born on January 6, 1936 to James Arthur Gordon and Wilma Sims Gordon. Lynn was born at the family home in Hamilton, Mississippi. He joined 2 brothers, Condon and Ray and a sister, Willene. Another brother, Jimmy, joined the family a few years later. Lynn’s mother Wilma passed away in 1940 and his father remarried Viola Campbell Gordon in 1941 and youngest brother, Donald, joined the family a year later.
The family moved to Vernon, Alabama where Lynn attended school. He left high school and followed his sister, to Grangeville, Idaho. He began his customer service career as a box boy at Asker’s Foods.
He married Lucille Palmer on February 14, 1960 in Grangeville. Lynn and Lucille had two children, Heidi and Philip. In the early 1970’s the family relocated to Hamilton, Montana. They purchased the Economy Foods store, and sold it a few years later.
Lynn worked for the Safeway store in Hamilton for many years becoming an Assistant Manager. He loved working with the public and enjoyed the customers he interacted with. After leaving Safeway, he went to work for Super 1. When he officially retired he spent time working in his yard, some traveling, enjoying his animals and visiting with friends.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Condon, Ray, Jimmy, and Donald, brother-in-law Curtis Lance, and nephew Kenneth Gordon. He is survived by his sister Willene Lance, son Philip (Sue), daughter Heidi (partner Saundra), grandchildren Bri (Kerrick) Kelly and Josh (Kallie) Gordon, great-grandchildren Nora and Sloan Kelly and Elias Gordon; several nieces and nephews, extended family, and caregiver for many years, Michael Gordon.
Lynn was a friend to many and will be missed a lot. We Love You Dad!
