HAMILTON – Mark A. “Sparky” Lehr, 61, of Hamilton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. He was born June 29, 1960, in York, PA the son of Richard and Nina Lehr.
Sparky was raised and educated in Pennsylvania until the passing of his mother, at which time his dad moved him and his two brothers to Steamboat Springs, CO in 1974. After graduating from high school in 1978, Sparky began his career as a heavy equipment operator. After meeting Kimberly Stambaugh in 1985, Sparky moved back to Pennsylvania where they married on May 13, 1989, in Dover, PA.
Sparky and Kim moved to Hamilton in 1989, where they raised 2 sons, Tucker and Tanner. He continued operating heavy equipment until his health forced him to retire from the Ravalli County Road Dept. in 2021.
Sparky was very involved in Hamilton baseball, coaching his sons for many years and teaching the fundamentals of the game he loved to the youth of Hamilton. He also served as president of the Hamilton Baseball Association and the Bitterroot Red Sox Legion Association for many years and was a volunteer with the Lost Trail Ski Patrol for 20 years.
Sparky was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish, especially with his boys. Sparky was a strong Christian man and believed Jesus Christ to be his savior. He loved God, his family and all those around him. He will be truly missed.
Sparky was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kim of Hamilton; 2 sons, Tucker of Hamilton and Tanner and wife Emma of Newberg, OR; 2 brothers, Mike and wife Ginger of Dover, PA and Woody and wife Laurie of Hamilton; and his aunt, Jane Lehr and his uncle, Dennis Lehr both of Dover, PA, as well as many nephews and nieces.
Viewing will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Daly-Leach Chapel with funeral services following at 1:00 pm. There will be a reception following the services in the funeral home’s community room. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
