Martin Atwood Obituary

VICTOR- Martin "Craig" Atwood Sr. passed away at home due to natural causes on June 11, 2020. He passed peacefully in the company of his loving family. Craig was born in Grass Valley, California on August 19, 1958. The family moved to Montana when Craig was a baby, and this is where he called home. Craig was a family man. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, friend and grandfather. His family meant everything to him. Craig was tough as nails, but yet the most humble and kind man around. He was honest and hardworking. Craig had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories of the good 'ol days to his kids and grandchildren; as well as reminiscing with his mother, brother and sister. He made friends anywhere he went with his easy-going and kind nature. Craig was a logger and trucker. He covered many miles, but most loved hauling logs with his old '66 self-loader. He served in the National Guard and received an honorable discharge. He loved our country and way of life. Craig was at home in the outdoors, looking for firewood, hunting or on the lake fishing. Craig also took a special interest in wood carving, and we looked forward to receiving his carvings as gifts. He enjoyed playing pool, Yahtzee, cribbage, and watching old westerns. Craig was preceded in death by his brother Sammy, daughter Christina, father "Ike", step-father Richard "Dick" Stimpson, cousin Randy Moorman, and dear girlfriend Dara Dixon, as well as many others that he deeply cared for. Surviving are Craig's mother Joyce Stimpson, brother Richard, sister Renee (Joe), children Melissa (Josh), Michael (Teresa), Kristie (Ronnie), Martin (Tawnya), and Kayla. His special kitty, Precious. Grandchildren, Mercedes, Meriah, Joey, Charlie, Layla, Ethan, Jarrett, Mason, Ross, Sierra & Jordeyn. Niece Mistie (Brent) & Kevin, Nephews Roger (Alanna) Tyler & Tia , and Ben (Michelle) & Logan. As well as many more friends and loved ones... Craig was so proud of Charlie, Mercedes &Tia for graduating from high school this year! He loved us all, and in return was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Craig will be deeply missed and we will cherish our fondest memories of him. ~until we meet again~ Love you Dad.
