MATTHEW ALAN MESKIMEN

Matt was born on June 16, 1962 to Elmer and Anne Meskimen in Hamilton, MT. He entered into Heaven on July 17, 2018 at home in Darby, MT.
Matt attended the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind in Great Falls until he was 13 years old, at which time he moved to San Diego with his family. He attended public schools and graduated from Granite Hills High School. Matt had many great friends and a wonderful family, all of whom never treated him as being blind. Matt enjoyed the opportunities of rock climbing, water skiing, snow skiing, and fishing, all while enjoying the outdoors and his great love, the ocean. He was an avid reader (listener) to all genre of books.
While living in Seattle, Matt rang bells for the Salvation Army, volunteered at various schools, and learned to use the Seattle Transit system. He loved attending the Seattle Mariner baseball games.
He is preceded in death by his best friend Todd Berry, and his faithful leader dogs, Josh, Buddy, and Buck.
He is survived by his wife, Alesha; his parents, Anne and Elmer Meskimen of Darby; brothers, Craig (Jill) Meskimen of Darby and Shayne (Dani) Meskimen of Billings; sister, Lori (Paul) Gillum of Hamilton. He has numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and his current Leader Dog, Roxie.
Matt knew the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and would want the same for all.
A memorial service will be held at the Darby Community Club House on Friday, July 20, at 1:00 p.m.
